Studio time & Fears

Earlier this week I recorded a new song at The OC Hit factory that will be part of my EP which hopefully will be ready by May 1st. I was really nervous about getting back in the studio after my surgery since my entire upper gum has been cut open and my jaw has been so badly infected – read more here. Furthermore I normally always go over a new song with my vocal coach but I got the song so last minute so I didn’t have time to. I really didn’t know how it was going to go especially recording so shortly after a serious mouth surgery. I decided just to go with the ride, I had absolutely no expectations and 100% shut out that little voice inside my head saying “I’m not good enough”. As I started to lay down the vocals it felt so different and I had no control due to my surgery. I knew it wouldn’t matter what I did so I went with the groove and the way I felt and I delivered my absolute best vocals ever!!!! The song is so dope and I’m so proud of myself. I can’t wait to share it and for the first time I have no fear or anxiety about sharing it with the world.

It is no secret I’ve been bullied really bad for always knowing what I want and allowing myself to dream big. Even though I have moved on there is still a scar inside of me from those times. Before the bullying and the hate got really bad I was fearlessly pursuing my dreams, not afraid to mess up and just go for it. Which is the only way to know what you are truly capable of. For many many years I never allowed myself to live out my full potential so it feels so great to record without any fears! And yes I did mess up in the studio but I also delivered beyond what I thought I was capable of. Therefore the mess up’s suddenly don’t seem so relevant.

Follow your dreams they somehow know the way<3

Before I got sick and ended up at the hospital – read more here – I did my very first American sit-down interview. It’s a show called “Manika’s Love Line” on Dash radio. I’m talking about everything from music, guys, my upcoming project etc. Manika is the sweetest and really easy to talk to – and she sings too she actually opened up for One Direction when they were on tour. Anyways the interview will air this Sunday 6pm PT/ 9pm ET. If you are not in the States you can listen to the interview on her free Manika App HERE.

I had such an amazing day today. We drove down to Orange Country to meet up with a fellow Dane – Thomas Barsoe who is an incredible producer and writer and has a beautiful studio down in The OC. Thomas had a huge hit in Asia and now is producing and writing in California. I’ve worked with him 7-8 years ago and we recorded two really good songs that has never been released.

Today I visited him and we decided to start working on a new project together. We already have two songs that we will record next week. I’m really excited to get back in the studio – especially with him because he is so talented and he really challenges you and make you grow so much while working with him. The only bad thing about his studio is the delicious ice-cream store next door that bakes fresh ice-cream cones every day!!!! It is going to be so hard to resist that place ha ha. Anyways you can see videos from my trip down to the OC on my snapchat (Victoriahbech) and on my Instagram Story @Victoriahbech

If you haven’t you can see my new music video “Machine Gun Love” HERE <3

As you might know I released my music video to my new single “Machine Gun Love” – watch it HERE. Not only did Iggy Azalea’s writer and producer write the song Billboard Magazine also stopped by my video shoot to do an interview about me. If you don’t know Billboard Magazine is huge and is the magazine when it comes to the music industry. It was so crazy to know they were coming to my video shoot. I know you have to believe in yourself and all that but I have to admit I was nervous as shit lol. I mean I’m not even signed to a record label and this happens to me makes me so grateful and feel so blessed. Since I got sick with a deadly infection I haven’t done any promotion for my video yet and the interview isn’t out yet. Since I’m feeling a little better I met up with the journalist the other day to add more to the interview. I’m really excited for the interview to come out 🙂

Anyways have good day guys and remember you can follow my life on my Instagram @Victoriahbech and snapchat Victoriahbech.
