Malibu Wine Tasting & Picnic

This weekend I spend my Sunday wine tasting at Malibu Wines. Malibu Wines is not your regular wine tasting experience. Basically it is a big open area with plenty chairs, picnic tables and live music on the weekends.

There is a smaller selection of wines to taste from which you pick your favorite and then purchase your bottle. You bring your own food and snacks. We were a big group and ended up spending all day, eating, tasting several  wines and playing UNO – ha ha 😉

It was such a great day with beautiful weather and good people. The place has the perfect vibe and is a good hang out spot with friends or on a date. I’m definitely going to be visiting Malibu Wines this Summer.

I have had a couple of people ask me about my Valentines surprise since I forgot to post about it. This post is obviously long overdue since Valentines Day was like two weeks ago but I decided to share it anyway.

Red surprised me with a huge home made brunch of all my favorite brunch items, Valentines balloons and flowers. After brunch I gave him my presents and we chilled for a couple of hours due to food coma 😉 We went for a walk around Beverly Hills and got ice-cream at Creamistry – so amazing!!

Check out my funny Valentines memes here.

After our walk we slowly got ready for dinner. Red had arranged dinner at Barton G where we also went for our anniversary – see more here. Barton G is such a visual and fun experience.

Paradise in Malibu

Before my Mama-Zanne left today my partner in crime Ida and I surprised her with an early birthday celebration. Mama-Zanne has been working so much all Summer and she absolutely loves the beach so we decided she deserved a beach day. We packed her bag and told her to get ready and then we drove out to Malibu. We went to the most beautiful beach club called “Paradise Cove”. Paradise Cove is a closed area with a restaurant, bar, to go bar, and sun beds. It’s one of the only beaches in Los Angeles with chairs and sunbeds.

We rented a couple of beds and had a light lunch and then finished the day with Paella for dinner:)

It was such a beautiful day and Mama-Zanne was so happy – especially since it was her first time there.

I think Paradise Cove is officially one of my favorite spots in Los Angeles. Check out the beautiful pictures Ida took – and don’t miss out on the best picture at the bottom 😉

My partner in crime Ida’s family is visiting Los Angeles so of course we had to take them to one of our favorite spots BoA Steakhouse on Sunset blvd. Boa is a modern steakhouse with an upbeat vibe and a sure place to spot celebrities. Paparazzi’s are always waiting outside by the valet. Since this weekend is BET weekend (an award show celebrating urban entertainment) Boa was packed.

It was such a fun time and the food is delicious as always. I highly recommend starting with their famous cesar salat which they make from scratch by your table – quite a performance.

Beachfront sushi restaurant; NoBu

Over the weekend I had lunch at Nobu a sushi restaurant in Malibu and a major celebrity hotspot. The restaurant is located directly on the beach which means you have an ocean view from every seat in the restaurant.

The food is very good with fresh seafood, a large cocktail menu, sushi and a few meat dishes. Nobu is a hot spot so I recommend you make a reservation.

This yellow tail sashimi with jalepeno was my favorite.

Mango Passion fruit cocktail.

Amazing lobster tacos.

Tuna on a crispy rice cake with eel sauce and avocado.

We also had the big eye tuna roll and the lobster roll – both rolls were so good I forgot to take a picture ha ha!

We drove through the canyons of Calabasas (yes where The Kardashian’s live) and down Pacific Coast Highway along the beach in this brand new 2015 Porsche 911 Targa – perfect ride for a sunny day.

They have both a outdoor restaurant and a beautiful outdoor lounge patio – perfect way to enjoy the ocean breeze.
